Gallardo SS

Oh yea! That’s the 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera I’ve been modeling in Maya for the past 24 hours. Not 24 to be exact, but yea, portions within that 24 hour time frame! Modeling this seemingly simple, yet excruciatingly complex car has led me to believe firmly in a couple of things: i) Maya is far better than Max when it comes to complex design. ii) Max is far better than Maya when it comes to architectural design. Maya lacks in precision AND does not have the “Connect” tool present in Max. Okay, so it has “Insert Edge Loop Tool” and bla bla bla, but it can not be abused and hacked the same way as in Max. Which truly deserves a boner in the trunk, but oh hey, I’m good enough to take care of precision myself.

So was I ranting? It would be so much better to have a live option in my hand. That’s why!

AND! I finished with a mockup for IAmPero.info. The only problem is, the current mockup isn’t compatible with IE6. Drats! So I’ll probably change the header’s design a little and we’re good to go.

AND! McDowell’s whiskey (an Indian malt blend) is frikkin crude, tastewise! But the effect is neat. :D

Remix contests!

UB313 Remix Contest promo banner

So we start with another remix contest at www.1am-mediaforums.com. This time over it’s the breakbeat maestro kiddk8 with his Nu Skool Breaks track UB313.

So TerraNation won the My Lovely Shadow remix contest held prior to this, hosted by our own pesky little Pero. Good job!

I tried using the remix material available for the contest, and within 10 minutes came up with a fullon Psytrance groove at 146 BPM. I think I’ll enter this time. This stuff is danceable + headbangable! Which is sweet sweet awesomeness. Thanks kiddk8! :D
Oi and if you’re reading this, do us all a hugest favor and promote this contest and the artists by placing these promo banners/icons on your community profiles like MySpace, Humble Voice, pownce etc. and your blogs and practically EVERY wall you can stick it to! Hehe… :D
Here’s the whole deal for ya:

Help spread the word around and oh, if you’re a DJ/produces/remixer yourself, hop on the bandwagon poopy!
Enjoy! 8)

Reise Durch Europa by Russ Krauch

And my copy of Reise Durch Europa by the relentlessly super talented Russ Krauch arrived today. All the way to India in less than 5 days? Now this is hood-poppingly great!
About Russ Krauch:

Russ Krauch is one of the most versatile musicians I have had the honor to know, and to make things as great as larger-than-life, a VERY good friend as well. Composing in Drum ‘N’ Bass, Lounge, Beats, Guitar Rock, Symphonic Electronica, Soundscape, Club, Cinematic and just about any form of Electronica known and alien, Russ Krauch covers a wide range of musical genres with great skill and mastery. Not only that, he is known for his amazing comedy too! And don’t tell anyone but he sometimes seems to exhibit an unhealthy obsession with Krusty The Clown! :D
Reise Durch Europa - Tracklist:

- Roboter Anfang
- Reise Durch Europa
- Tea With Roger And George
- Deutscher Roboter Lullaby
- Apedog’s Arpaholic Opus
- The Day Santa Shot His Elves
- Lothian’s Solitude Borg Mix
- Roboterende

My take on the album? Plain and simple - The name says “Russ Krauch”. Enough said. Most unique sounds and a soulful vibe mixed with the supremacy of life is what you can always expect from Russ.

Compound Memory Banner Clip

Trying to get back to my old self, I tried testing my grungy skills once again in Photoshop, only this time it was CS3 extended version which is plain awesomeness at its best! :D
So I finished the graphic request made by Compound Memory today and it turned out to be pretty sweet, in my honest opinion. With the “smell” of foreboding and gloom that it carries, I can surely say, I’m slowly getting back in my designing form again. :)
Oh what? You see some partially visible text floating around in there? Well chill poopy. It’s just a watermark saying - corrosionlogic.com. I can’t just give ya everything now, can I? :P About Compound Memory:

Compound Memory is a rock/metal/alternative band out of Sacramento, California and is one of those very few good underground bands that impress and overwhelm in the first go! I remember when I first landed on their music site, I played a track named Where Do I Stand by them. Pure, retro metallic goodness. Enough to melt your face away. It was that awesome. People who know their music and like it raw will surely love this band.

Along with Where Do I Stand are a few other tracks the band has released on the site which are equally impressive and enjoyable. Suggestion: Check them out! :D
Band members:

Marty Gordon - Guitar (Lead)
Tim Shaplin - Guitar (Backing)
Danny Plain - Synth/Organ/Keys
Matt Grouser - Drums
Bill Yleva - Bass

Kung-Fu Shmiped!

Kung Fu Biped SS

Biped has got to be the buggiest system in Max, after Reactor of course! This thing is more erratic than Windows 98 and sometimes tends to act in pretty much the same way as the Blue Screen Of Death. But as much as I hate it, I like starting off with it. No need to rig and stuff. Just pull the little guy to the height you want and voila! Done!

Anyway, because of all the kooky jams in my over-saturated life, I only got 2 hours with this little biped (it’s a God damn skeleton, so why not call it that? Techno-freak names for simple shit!) and I thought of making it go all Kung-Fu-Duke-Nukem-I-Got-Balls-Of-Steel style! Got inspired by Morpheus from the movie, Matrix and started animating this little hunk-a-junk.

The animation seems pretty okay, but isn’t as perfect as I want it to be. Why? Automated animation algorithms. No wonder traditional animation (or in modern lingo: frame-by-frame animation) still holds a hell of a lot more value.

Unfortunately, not even the initial fight posture sequence is complete and I already feel sleepy. Tired as hell.

So, the TO-DO list for tomorrow’s got to be:

- Blast this little biped shmiped!
- Work till near completion on Pero’s new website design (things really didn’t work out today with the whole grunge thing. Tomorrow they probably will)
- Design an awesome CD cover for Russ Krauch’s new album!!! Yippee! :D - Pick up the blasted biped shmiped and make it do the Kung-Fu-Phoo-Shu-semi-naked-ballerina dance!
- Beat up a few punks!
- Chew bullets and spit gunpowder!
- Plan on compiling and editing Slinky EP01!
- Sleep a little for God’s sake!

So, good night poopitos!

Slinky Intro complete

Slinky Intro Screenshot

Woohoo! The intro for Slinky short length animation series is complete. Nothing fancy, nothing Hollywood. Pure simplicity and to the point. All that remains to be done now is the music and maybe a coupla sprites showing the credits and all that stuff no one gives a poo about!

Oh yea baby, we’re nearing the premier of Slinky: EP01 - The Slinky Flip! Ain’t that great? :D
